Preserving our Environment to propel Sustainable Growth

The flora & fauna that surrounds coffee plantations are key in our endeavor to supply high quality coffees. At Cima we acknowledge the importance of protecting our future and know the best way to do this is by taking care of our environment.

It's much easier for a coffee tree to fight diseases if it's a healthy plant, and so it's much easier for a plantation to yield high quality beans if it's a healthy environment. Our farmer partners are intent on ensuring the health of their environment and take active steps to conserve the nature around them and ensure its viability for many years to come.

Growing coffee for consumption can be extremely taxing on the environment, especially when large companies push for the destruction of entire forests to make way for plantations. These destructive methods are not necessary to produce high quality coffees.

The Cima family shares the importance of protecting our environment and cultivating coffee in a sustainable manner so as to ensure its viability for generations to come.

Through our visits to origin we are able to keep track of each farm's progress in implementing practices that will ensure the long term viability of their environment.

Practices such as growing in the shade, recycling cascara for fertilizer, treating honey water, and protecting the native birds & bees all contribute to producing the highest quality coffee. Which is why we take an active role in sharing these best practices among those farms we partner with and help make it easier for them to implement.

If you have questions about a specific farm's practices, would like to contribute your own experience, or collaborate on a project that contributes to coffee growing's sustainability please reach out!
